Counteracts “bad” cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity...thanks to its particularly high percentages of vegetable fats, antioxidants and fibre, it can prevent cardiovascular problems! Suitable for those with lactose intolerance and coeliac disease. Naturally GLUTEN-FREE. It favours physical activity thanks to its abundance of phosphorus, magnesium and, most of all, potassium. Originally from the Avola area, these plants are the most precious variety on international markets. They flower prematurely between January and mid-March in seaside areas and low hills, where late frosts are rare. Their production area is therefore limited to the provinces of Syracuse and Ragusa, considered the sunniest in Italy. The plant can grow to reach between 8 and 10 metres in height. The natural habitat of the finest varieties id the Val di Noto. The plant is harvested in August and September.
